British League Division 2 - Championship play-offs - Champions
Semi-finals:
Oxford 10 Sheffield Sabres (North Champs) 2
Aviemore Blackhawks (Scottish Champs) 8 London Allstars (South Champs) 5
Final: Oxford City Stars beat Aviemore Blackhawks
For the anoraks, Aviemore's team included Brian Kanewisher (best known re Cardiff Devils) and London's team included John Cimelli (father of Tony).
Kevan Grace completed his set of British Champions medals this season (he already had British Premier and Division 1 medals). Martin Weddell went on to become rink supremo at Bracknell (by the way, what sort of defenseman gets zero pims in a season?), Paul Linton was tragically killed in a fight at a party in Streatham in the close season - hence the Linton Bar and the Stars retirement of the No.11 jersey).
