Breaking News

  • "Oxford City Stars are pleased to announce that their coach for 2009/10 will be Simon Anderson. Simon has worked his way up through the coaching ranks and has been an assistant coach for Swindon Wildcats and more recently was Gareth Endicott's assistant at Wightlink Raiders in the EPL last season. He nearly joined Oxford during that season but had agreed to assist Aza the day before we spoke to him and he is a man of his word. Simon is well respected amongst players he has coached and these include a number of members of the current Stars squad.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Richie Hargreaves for stepping in as coach part way through last season and we wish him well with his new venture at Bristol. Richie was a great asset last year and was always completely open with us about his intention to move on and start up a new Bristol team this season so we have known for a long time that a new coach would be needed for 2009/10 and have had the opportunity to sift through a number of options before deciding on our new appointment.

As usual Oxford City Stars will be holding trials for next season's team early in July. Attendance will be by invitation only and any players interested in trying out for the team, who will again be playing in ENIHL South Division 1, should contact us by emailing their name and any other details they consider helpful to admin@oxfordstars.com. All applications will be treated in confidence and everybody will receive a reply. There is likely to be more than one trial date and details of these will be supplied to any applicant who is invited."
